As water is the source and substance of physical life, so is the One Infinite Power the source of all that is. It flows through all and around all like a river leading down to the ocean. And that bright, infinite sea is what all men, deep down, long for most deeply; all mans desires, wishes, longings are actually expressions of this deep yearning of the soul for oneness with the infinite Creator.
All men have to do is to plunge into that river of the soul and let it take them to the source. But what men or women on the whole have the courage or inclination to do so? Courage because it means looking at who he/she truly is, what his many faults and weaknesses are, what hurts and sufferings he has caused to others, and inclination because most of mankind is still inclined to the glamours and delusions of materialism.
Who has not known of materially-power hungry businessmen or conglomerates who amass vast fortunes far in excess of their needs while hundreds of thousands starve or accrue all the other sufferings of dire poverty. The ways of bringing hideous wrongs into this world are themselves almost infinite. And so the generations and ages go on, as the river flows on, and man still tries to stand in opposition to it and to direct the flow for his own outer requirements far, far in excess of his needs, and is surprised and dismayed when it finally sucks him down and drowns him. Such is always the case because he is unaware of how life must always be evenly balanced, and that there are cosmic laws of being which cannot be transgressed or mocked with impunity.
